Coffee lovers
and the impact on your body
I read a new research about Caffeine + performance and I can tell you that if you're a coffee lover like I am...
this is probably one of those things you wish you didn't know, but...
you just have to know to get to know your body
Let’s get serious
Your newsletter, now exiting the stratosphere.
We’re beehiiv, the newsletter platform built for builders. Every product we drop and feature we create is made with one goal in mind: exponential growth.
Our founders sought to bring the tools and tech to creators everywhere that helped turn their old company into a multi-million dollar operation. So when we say we can take you from “up-and-comer” to household name, we mean it.
If you need a beautiful destination for your content, use our no-code website builder. If you want paid subs, we don’t take a dime. If you want big name sponsors, we connect you with the likes of Nike and Netflix.
In short: maybe your newsletter is stuck on the ground floor because your newsletter platform is stuck in the last decade.
and in a more simple words:
You know how when you drink a lot of coffee or energy drinks every day, you feel like you NEED that caffeine to function? This research is looking into whether daily caffeine fixes your brain into needing it to learn and remember stuff.
The scientists found that people who drank caffeine every day didn't respond as well to a special kind of brain stimulation treatment that is supposed to help strengthen connections in your brain to boost learning.
They think the daily caffeine might be reducing your natural ability to make new connections and soak up new info. So all that coffee and Red Bull you pound to study or party harder may actually be limiting your brain's powers over time.
We need bigger studies to know for sure, but it makes you wonder if cutting back on the daily caffeine fixes could help your brain stay more flexible and sponge-like. Might be worth trying a caffeine detox to find out! The research doesn't say you have to go totally caffeine-free, just that chronic high levels might hamper your brain's plasticity.
So maybe cycle off the hard stuff for a bit and see if you feel sharper off your usual caffeine buzz. Can't hurt your brain to take a break from getting keyed up every day!
Here are some healthier caffeine hacks if you still want that morning buzz:
Cycle off it for a few weeks to reset your tolerance. Your brain needs a break from being chemically pumped up all the time.
Give matcha or yerba mate tea a shot if you like the ritual of sipping a hot morning drink. Gives me motivation without the side effects of hardcore coffee. Still gets you amped but has less caffeine and more chillax L-theanine to promote focus without the crash.
Hope it can help
Like everything in life, good portions of things we like too much will keep us sane. Too much of everything will get you addicted and not appreciate it as much.
Just a thought :)
